How to Load Presets in Xfer Records’ Cthulhu
Xfer Records’ Cthulhu is a powerful MIDI chord and arpeggiator plugin. Loading presets allows you to quickly access custom chord sets and arpeggiator patterns. Here’s how to load presets in Cthulhu:
Locating the Preset Browser
Open Cthulhu as a plugin in your DAW or in standalone mode.
Look for the Preset Browser at the top of the Cthulhu interface.
Loading Factory or Custom Presets
To load factory presets:
Use the arrow buttons next to the preset name to cycle through available factory presets included with Cthulhu. To load custom presets (such as those purchased from ADSRSounds.com):
Click the Folder icon or Load button in the preset browser.
Navigate to the folder where your preset files are saved. Presets for Cthulhu usually have the .cht file extension.
Select the preset file you want to load.
Click Open to load the preset.
Important Notes
Presets must be in the .cht format to be recognized by Cthulhu.
Keep your custom presets organized in clearly labeled folders for easy access.
If your presets include MIDI chord sets or arpeggiator patterns, loading the preset will automatically configure Cthulhu with those settings.
Troubleshooting
If your presets don’t appear in the browser, ensure they are saved in the correct .cht format.
Verify that you have proper read permissions for the folder containing your presets.
Restart your DAW or Cthulhu plugin if newly added presets do not show up immediately.
