How to Upgrade from Xfer Serum to Serum 2

If you're using Serum, you're already working with one of the most powerful wavetable synths out there. And now, with the release of Serum 2, it’s time to take things even further—new effects, streamlined workflow, and more modulation power than ever before. If you bought Serum from ADSR (or even directly from Xfer Records), upgrading is quick and easy. Here's how to do it.

🔍 Before You Begin

To get Serum 2, you’ll need:

• A valid Serum license




• Access to your account on XferRecords.com




• An internet connection

🛠 How to Upgrade to Serum 2 ✅ Already Registered on Xfer Records?

If your Serum license is already registered on XferRecords.com, just follow these steps:

1. Log In at XferRecords.com
   Head to XferRecords.com and log into your account.

2. Go to Your Serum Download
   You can find it under My Account > Downloads, or by visiting the Serum product page while logged in.

3. Download the Installer
   The latest installer always includes the most recent update—Serum 2 is now part of the standard download.

4. Install the Update
   Run the installer. It will safely overwrite your existing version while keeping your presets and settings.

   💡 No need to uninstall your current version first.

5. Open Your DAW
   Launch your DAW and load Serum—you're now running Serum 2. You can confirm the version by clicking the Serum logo at the top of the interface.

🛒 Bought Serum from ADSR and Haven’t Registered Yet?

If you purchased Serum through ADSR, your code needs to be redeemed at Xfer Records before you can download Serum 2. Here’s how to do it:

The code you received from ADSR isn’t your license key just yet—you’ll need to redeem it on Xfer Records to get your full license and download access.

1. Go to xferrecords.com/instore
   This is where you'll enter the code from ADSR.

2. Log In or Create a New Account

   • If you already have an account on Xfer Records, just log in.

   • If not, click “Sign Up” and create a new account using your preferred email.

3. Redeem Your Code
   After logging in, return to xferrecords.com/instore.
   This time, enter the Product Registration Key you got from ADSR.
   This will unlock your full Serum license and allow you to download the latest version.

4. Download and Install Serum 2
   Once redeemed, you’ll find the Serum download in your Xfer account.
   Download the installer, run it, and you’re good to go—Serum 2 will replace your current version while keeping your presets intact.
